Dave, Jacob and I went to the Meridien Hotel this afternoon to see the arrival of the Dakar Rally motorcycles, cars, trucks, drivers and support crew-- who have been trekking across the Sahara desert for two weeks in this annual off-road race!It's very cool to see the vehicles, the drivers, and all that goes into this amazing race--up close.
Dave says you need to know that "this is what's underneath the hood of Robby Gordon's Hummer. (the engine is in the rear.")

And we thought OUR car was dirty. You've done such a good job at keeping up with this, Mary. I think I like it just as well when you run out of ideas (on your photo blog), because then we get to see the truly daily life stuff. Next time try a picture of your computer, and the wide view of where you tend to be when you are working at it. Then we can visualize where you are when we hear from you. (Dave too!) And Jacob's teenager room and stuff like that.
